With christmas fast approaching and christmas parties happening left and right it’s important to be prepared at all times (while still looking stylish obviously), that’s where your christmas party clutch steps in. But it’s no use bringing along clutch with some old gum wrappers and a juicy tube from 2004, you have to be prepared if you want to survive (probably a bit dramatic but you get my drift).
Christmas parties equal festive makeup looks and that usually includes red lipstick. I love a good red lip but they aren’t easy to keep looking perfect, from getting it on your teeth to it rubbing off in the middle leaving a ring of red around your lips it’s a real struggle, that’s why I always keep the lipstick I’m wearing in my clutch for touch-ups.
I don’t know about you but when someone puts on some christmas music I can’t just stay sitting and act like a sane person, I need to get up and dance. After a few hours of dancing in the boiling heat of Australian summer people start looking at me like I’m a walking disco ball so powder is a must. I’ve always loved the rimmel stay matte pressed powder as it keeps the shine at bay while not looking super cakey. I also carry a powder brush to apply it with.
While I don’t apply mascara too many times throughout the night, I do like to have some with me incase it wears away throughout the party and I need a top up. My eyes seem to disappear without mascara so it’s always something I wear no matter where I’m going. When I go out to a party I like to do a full face of makeup and as you can probably imagine a full face of makeup with no mascara makes me look a little crazy. So if I ever find myself with my mascara having magically dissapeared from my eyelashes I’ll always have it there for a quick refresh.
Finally I have my phone. I love taking photos, every time you see me I’ll have my camera or my phone out snapping away. My camera is bulky so it’s not something I take out all the time with me but you can bet that I always have my phone at arms reach. Also did you really go to a party if you didn’t take any photos of you and your friends killing it on the dance floor..?
That’s all for whats in my christmas party clutch. I’d love to know what your must have christmas clutch essential is. Also christmas is literally one week away and I can barely contain my excitement, speaking of which I’m currently facetiming my best friend Issy and we’re singing christmas songs which made it almost impossible to write this blog post haha. Thank you as always for reading and I hope you all have a fab day ♡.
Also if you were wondering where my clutch is from, I bought it from Colette Hayman.
