I’m so excited for todays blogmas post because it’s my first collab and it’s with my amazing friend I’ve met through blogging, Styled by McKenz. (I’m legit so lucky to have become friends with someone like her through my little blog!! Go check her out as she has such a lovely blog, its definitley one of my faves). We decided to each do a festive makeup look that would be perfect to wear to christmas parties or christmas day. I wanted to keep it very classic and I love how it turned out, I’ll definitely be wearing this look on christmas day!!
First I started off by applying my Nars Sheer Glow foundation using my oval foundation brush (I’ll have a review on them soon). This is by far my favourite foundation and I definitely recommend it even though it’s a little pricey. I set that with my Rimmle Stay Matte pressed powder.
Then I moved onto the eyes, I wanted to go for a neutral smokey eye to keep it simple and add some dimension without overtaking the lips. For the eye look I used my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I used salted caramel in the crease as a transition shade, I then took milk chocolate and semi-sweet and added them to the crease to define and give more depth, I added a little bit of triple fudge to the outer v for a more smokey look, I also added white chocolate to the lid to brighten it up a bit and finally to finish it all off some champagne truffle on the inner corners. I didn’t want to use eyeliner so I just took a bit of triple fudge and using an angled brush I smudged it along my upper lash line. To finish it off I took my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and applied it to my top and bottom lashes.
For my eyebrows I used the shade triple fudge on an angled eyeliner brush and filled them in keeping it quite subtle at the start of my eyebrows for a ombre effect.
I used my AC on Tour kit from Australis, I took the middle contour shade to subtly contour my cheekbones and added some highlight from my Sleek Solstice palette to the tops of my cheekbones. I skipped blush today because I thought it could be a bit much with the red lip and I have naturally flushed cheeks which show through the foundation anyway but you can totally add blush if you’d like.
The final step and the thing that ties this christmas look together is the lips!! I loveee red lipstick but rarely get the chance to wear it so when the festive season rolls around I whip it out as fast as Usain Bolt. I used my Rimmle Kate Moss lipstick in 107, this red is the perfect red for christmas and any occasion really so it’s definitely my go to. To finish it off I took a bit more highlighter on a small brush and dusted it on my cupids bow to add a little extra sparkle.
And that’s it, super simple but still really pretty and a classic christmas makeup look. I had so much fun creating this look and it was so lovely to collab with the beautiful McKenzie, her makeup look was stunning, you can check it out here. I hope you enjoyed blogmas day 8 and I’ll see you all tomorrow.
