My Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

I love makeup but it can be a little intimidating to be faced with hundreds of different eyeshadow shades which you then have to put into a combination that works (that can take some time if you are anything like me). Luckily I have found the perfect solution to all your eyeshadow problems. The Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad is super simple to use, pigmented, easy to blend and they have a colour combination to suit everyone’s tastes (13 different quads available online). Get ready to meet the new eyeshadow palette that will change your makeup game.

I have two of the palettes/quads, in the image above the palette on the left is Chocolate Sensation and the left is Berry Love. Each eyeshadow colour has a number on it and if you turn the palette over they have a handy little guide of where the shade goes on the eye (perfect for beginners). I adore both colour combinations as they have some neutral and darker colours (perfect for either day or night) and a nice mix of matte and shimmer, something I really look for in a palette because matte shades are more subtle for everyday wear but sometimes I feel like going a bit more fancy and putting some shimmer on as well.

Lets get straight into the my thoughts on the palettes:

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.42.18 amChocolate Sensation is a neutral/brown palette. The colour intensity of all shades are easy to build depending on how subtle or how intense you want the make up look to be. Shades 2, 3 & 4 are very pigmented (as seen in the swatch image below), however as shade 1 is a shimmery cream/whitem its colour payoff isn’t quite as strong but to be fair it is a light eyeshadow colour so I wasnt expecting too much pigment. The colours complement each other beautifully and they don’t turn into a brown muddy mess when you blend them.

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.43.05 amBerry Love is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes that I own. The colours are a mix of  berry, subtle pink and a shimmery nude/gold shades. They’re girly without being too in your face pink and purple. They blend together so smoothly and give you a look that is perfect for everyday. If your going out its easy to smoke out the corners using shade 4 and get a more dramatic look. Shade 1 in this palette is a matte cream/white and its colour pay off is a lot stronger than the Chocolate Sensation palette, perfect for a lighter lid colour/base, inner corner or brow bone highlight. I would definitely recommend this palette for anyone who wants a new palette with a twist on the classing browns and nudes.

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.44.43 amI absolutely love both palettes and as you can see in the swatches above they give an even and pigmented colour. There isn’t much I can find to fault about this product. For under $10 (I know how can palettes this amazing be so cheap!?) there’s no reason not to buy one (or 13) of these palettes. If you’re a newbie to makeup or a seasoned professional you can defiantly have some fun and create some beautiful looks with these palettes.

I hope you enjoyed my little review on these two gorgeous eyeshadow palettes by Avon. Let me know if you have or now want to get any of these palettes as I would love to know. Thank you for reading and don’t forget to follow to find out when I post!!

Love Sophie xx

New to your blog and so glad I found it, its great, just followed! 🙂 I too have an Avon quad like this in “Au Naturale”. Its really good to create a beginner smoky eye but I would prefer it if it had a least 1 shimmery shade like “Chocolate Sensation”, rather than being all matte. Good value for money though and very easy to use! I’ve recently started my own blog and would really appreciate if you have a spare moment if you could visit it and give me some feedback. Thanks for your time, I look forward to reading more of your blog in the future! <3 🙂

The Avon palettes really are good value for money, that’s annoying that the one you have doesn’t have a shimmer. I’m so glad you enjoy my blog!! I’ll definitely go over and check out your blog too Xx
